Angel Protector Chapter 17: The Book of Darkness "You must not help him." As they both looked on, Michael had now taken the battle to the air. He was on the offensive now, attacking Melissa from every angle, but none of his attacks managed to scratch Melissa. She was smiling as Michael was fighting her, which made Michael wonder why. "Why are you smiling Melissa?" Melissa opened the book of darkness and said another spell. Dark clouds formed above Divinia and black lightning streaked through the skies. Multiple forks of lightning striked against the shield of Divinia, attempting to break through it. A voice appeared in Melissa's head, the voice of Lucifer. "What are you doing? I only told you to lose the book, not destroy Divinia." The dark clouds vanished and Michael took this opportunity to stab Melissa. She did not block his sword as it pierced through her. The book of darkness fell to the floor together with Melissa. She took one last look at Michael before disappearing into the ground. The whole of Divinia cheered as Michael took the book with him and went back into Divinia. He passed the book to Christy, but she dropped it. The book fell with its pages open and an angel bent over to pick it up. "No don't!" shouted Christy. It was too late, that angel got sucked into the book and the book closed up by itself after glowing eerily for awhile. There was silence everywhere as Christy picked it up now. "Why didn't you get sucked in like him?" Christy walked to the deepest part of the castle and stood in front of a wall. She touched the wall and a flight of stairs leading down appeared. She walked down the long flight of stairs and came to a room. She opened the door and there in center of the room stood a transparent glass cylinder, inside it was the book of light, floating in mid air. The book shone brightly as Christy walked in. "I'll need another cylinder, what was that spell again? Oh right..." She summoned her harp and started playing a tune, she started to sing and a cylinder formed from the air. "There we go...that looks good enough." She opened up the cylinder and put the book of darkness inside. After putting it in, both of the books started to shake violently. Christy didn't look worried at all and sat down again, playing her harp and singing. The book of darkness started glowing and shook even more. After some time, both books were now standing at their positions silently. Christy gave a sigh of relief and walked out of the room. A loud thud echoed through the pits of hell as Lucifer slapped Melissa across the face as Krysta looked from the corner. He sat back on is throne and drank blood from his cup, with Melissa in front of him trying to get up. Krysta helped her get up and walked to her room as Lucifer was lost in his own thoughts. "Very soon my plan will be carried out and I'll spread darkness everywhere! Wahahahaha"
"Melissa! What are you thinking attacking Divinia with the book of darkness?"
"That's none of your business Michael, you're going to die today."
Michael flew at Melissa at a fast speed, preparing to slice her with his sword. However, just as his sword was about to land, Melissa disappeared into the ground. Michael looked around him carefully, waiting for Melissa's next move. Melissa suddenly appears behind Michael, her nails almost piercing Michael, but he managed to use his sword to block them at the last moment. Melissa started to hack at Michael relentlessly, not allowing him to even have a chance to attack. Christine who was looking at the battle from the gate towers was about to fly to help Michael but was held back by her sister.
"But can't you see that he won't be able to win Melissa, sister?"
"Michael won't be defeated that easily, have faith."
"Remember those days we used to train together Michael?"
"What about them?"
"Doesn't this feel nostalgic?"
"I forgot about those the day you betrayed Divinia."
"It was not I who betrayed Divinia but you who was so foolish to stay on in Divinia."
"Lucifer will destroy you!"
"You are not to say his name!"
"But my lord..."
"You're going to lose the book as I told you."
"Yes...my lord..."
"No pure hands must touch the book of darkness when it's open, just like no unclean hands must touch the book of light when it's open."
"What will happen to that angel?"
"He's been turned into just another source of energy for the book of darkness."
"Could this be their plan? Losing the book of darkness on purpose."
"It seems that way, but we don't know what their plan is."
"What should we do now?"
"I'll seal the book of darkness and put it in the sacred chamber, beside the book of light."
"You'll see to the preparations then."
"Yes you should go take a rest now."
"My lord, have mercy..."
"You almost foiled my plan with your foolishness!"
"Father, don't beat mother anymore, she managed to carry out your plan in the end."
"On account of Krysta I won't kill you today."
Angel Protector Chapter 16
As Christine summoned her wand; she started to say some words which even Uriel did not even understand. A bright blue light filled the whole room as she said the spell. Ayumi and Sakura were now being lifted into the air by some unknown force and the blue light now slowly engulfed them. Cuts appeared on Sakura and her blood flowed out. Her blood floated in mid air as Christine now opened the vial of water from the fountain of youth. The water tried to mix with her blood but it was not happening. Christine crushed the feather and fine particles mixed into the two liquids, now mixing it. As the blood and water mixed together, it now flowed into the bite marks on Ayumi. All this time Sakura was awake and felt all that was happening, she grimaced in pain as her blood still continued to flow out. Uriel looked away when he saw the pain Sakura was in. After all the blood had flowed into Ayumi, she closed up Sakura's cuts and laid her down on a chair. Ayumi still lay unconscious on her bed as Sakura took one last look at her, smiling before she fainted, too weak from the whole process.
"Christine! Sakura has fainted, will she be fine?"
"Don't worry, the process went well. She's just too weak now."
"Thank goodness..."
"Sakura risked her life to save a friend, i don't think heaven is so cruel to let her die."
Uriel said no reply to this and just walked to the window and gazed into the sky.
"I should be going back to my duties now that Sakura is fine."
"Move along then, you can leave her to me."
Uriel flew away and Christine opened the screen to Michael.
"Michael, the process went well, both of them are fine."
"That's good to hear."
Michael heaved a huge sigh of relief and slumped back into his chair.
"How about Sera? Is he getting better?"
"He is recovering well, you don't have to worry."
"Very well, has Uriel gone?"
"Yes he's gone back to his duties."
"I'll leave all of them in your care then."
"You can trust me."
"Make sure nothing bad happens now."
"Yes yes Michael..."
Michael closed the screen and Christine rolled her eyes.
"He's becoming more of a nag..."
"But that's what nice about him." smiled Christine as she thought of this.
Sera opened his eyes and tried to get up, Christine saw this out of the corner of her eye and quickly rushed to his side.
"Sera you're finally awake."
"What happened?"
"You were controlled by Melissa."
"Did i do anything?"
Before Christine answered he saw the lifeless body of Ayumi lying on the bed beside him.
"Did i do that to her?"
"Well...yes."
"Will she be ok?"
"Yah, you don't have to worry, just rest for now."
Sera now saw Sakura lying on the chair.
"Sakura? What is she doing here?"
"You know her?"
"She's Ayumi's friend isn't she?"
"She's the seraphim of water, she fought against Melissa and Krysta after both of you dropped from the sky."
"How's that possible?"
"We're trying to find out...in the meantime, we should let her rest."
"Ok."
"And you should be resting too."
Christine forces Sera to lie down, but as he lay down, an archangel came to the room.
"Gabriel? What brings our favourite messenger here?
"Christine...Divinia is in trouble."
"What? Is it under attack?"
"How many are there?" cuts in Sera.
"One...only one."
"One?"
"Lucifer?"
"No...its Melissa."
"What is she thinking? She may be strong...but not strong enough to take down Divinia."
"Normally yes...but she brought the book of darkness with her."
"What!?" shouts both Sera and Christine.
"Yes..she's creating havoc as we speak."
"We need to go!"
"No Sera i need to go...you stay here and rest."
"But!"
"Ayumi and Sakura both need someone to look after them anyway."
Christine flew off with Gabriel as Sera looked at them.
"Good luck both of you."
Sera went beside Ayumi and gazed upon her lifeless body. He gave a deep sigh and sat down.
"I'm sorry Ayumi...if only I didn't fall into her spell..."
Back at the gates of Divinia, Melissa was wrecking the whole place. As wave after wave of angels charged at her, she easily sent them back with her sword like nails. Christine reached Divinia and tended to the many injured angels. After a while, Melissa opened the book of darkness and started talking in an unknown language. A huge wave of phantoms and spirits came forth from the book and attacked everyone in the way. Michael steps through the gates of Divinia and stood before her, his sword preparing to attack her.

Angel Protector Chapter 15: Sacrifice
An angel knocks on the door of Michael and enters with a flask of cystal clear water in his hands. Michael looks up expectantly at him while he puts the flask on his table.
"Michael, this is the water from the fountain of youth."
"Well done, you may go now."
As soon as he leaves the room Michael opens the screen to call Christine. She's sitting at the couch watching tv.
"Christine, what are you doing?"
"I'm looking after both of them of course."
"Never mind that, we've got the water from the fountain of youth."
"That's fast. But we still need the blood and feather from another elemental seraphim."
"Contact Uriel and find out Sakura's condition from him."
"You do know Sakura wont have a high chance to live if we put her through this right?"
"Yes but what other choice do we have?"
"(sighs) you're right. Ok i'll contact Uriel."
Michael closes the screen and Christine opens her screen to contact Uriel.
"Uriel, they've got the water, all we need now is for Sakura to wake up."
"Sakura hasn't woken up yet."
"Uriel you're the angel of death. Tell me honestly if they all can live."
"I won't know, I only can tell humans life span, not angels."
"But Ayumi and Sakura are both humans now rght?"
"For some reason i can't see their life spans."
"Maybe because they have the blood of the angels."
"Yes it could be, I'll let you know if she wakes up."
"Ok."
The screen closes and Christine turns off the tv. She walks to the side of Ayumi and Sera.
"All we can do is wait and hope for the best. I feel so helpless."
Uriel turns back and sits beside Sakura again.
"Sakura you must hurry and wake up, Ayumi needs your help."
As Uriel talks to her, in Sakura's mind she hears his voice.
"This voice...whose is it? Its so deep and warm."
"Ayumi's in danger? I must save her."
As these thoughts ran through her mind, her eyes start to open. A blur image of Uriel forms but slowly she sees him clearly. Uriel smiles as she opens her eyes.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Uriel, the angel of death."
"Did you save me?"
"Yes."
"Is Ayumi in danger?
"She's been bitten by a vampire. She'll lose her angel powers and become a vampire soon."
"What?"
"You must relax, or you won't recover in time to save her."
"You're in no condition to save her now."
"I must save her!"
"Just rest for a while."
Uriel opens the screen to Christine.
"She's awake Christine."
"That's pretty fast."
"She keeps saying she wants to save Ayumi."
"Let me see her."
Uriel walks to the bedside of the very surprised Sakura.
"What's this?"
"Its how we angels communicate." says Uriel
"wow..."
"Hmm, her condition is still pretty unstable."
"Who's that Uriel?"
"She's Christine, the chief healer."
"Please let me help Ayumi."
"You might die if you save her now. Is that worth it?"
"You don't understand. We went through everything together."
"We know of both your pasts..."
"Then let me save her!"
Christine sighs and opens another screen showing Michael.
"Michael, she's awake."
"Is her condition ok?"
"Its still unstable but she wants to save Ayumi now."
"Did you tell her that she might die?'
"Of course, but she's a stubborn one."
Sakura pouts upon hearing this.
"Whos that now Uriel?" asks Sakura
"Thats Michael, the one in charge of running Divinia."
"Divinia?"
"The place where angels live."
"I see..."
"What do you think Michael?"
Michael thinks for awhile and looks seriously at Sakura.
"Do you really not mind dying for Ayumi?
"Yes! let me save her."
"(sighs) We have no choice, let her go through the process."
The look of Uriel became worried as he heard this but he kept quiet. Christine sighed again and nodded her head.
"I'll see to everything then, send the water to me."
"I'll send someone to send it to you."
Michael closes the screen and Christine looks back at Uriel's screen.
"Ok Uriel, bring Sakura here."
"Ok."
"Thank you Christine." says Sakura
"You don't have to thank me."
Christine closes the screen and sits patiently waiting for the water to come. An angel soon came and gave it to her. She puts the water beside Ayumi and Uriel arrives with Sakura in his arms.
"Ok are you ready?"
"Yes."
Christine summons her staff and soon the whole room is filled with a bright blue light.
Angel Protector Chapter 14: The Devil's plan
Christine took out her staff and shot a beam of light on the vampire. He used his cloak to cover himself and jumped out the window, transforming into a bat in mid air and flying away into the night sky. Christine hurried to Ayumi's side and checked her neck. There were two teeth marks there, fresh bite marks from a vampire. Christine waved her hand to call Michael and he saw the serious look on her face.
"What happened Christine? You look so serious."
"Ayumi has been bitten by a vampire."
"Didn't i tell you to look after them? How did this happen?"
"Well...I..."
"Never mind that now...can you do anything about it?"
"There is a remedy to save her, but the ingredients needed aren't easy to get."
"Give me the list and i'll send people to get them. Nothing must happen to her."
"I'll need the blood of another seraphim, but not an ordinary one, i need the blood from one who can control the elements just like she does."
"We can use Sakura's blood right?"
"But she is weak now, putting her through the process is dangerous."
"You're right...what else do you need?"
"I'll need a feather from her wings too, and the water from the fountain of youth."
"The fountain of youth? Won't that make her younger?"
"Normally yes but in this case it won't."
"I'll see to everything then, try to slow down the process in the meantime."
"Ok."
Michael closed the screen and hurriedly gave orders to some other angels. He called Uriel and told him the news.
"Uriel, i need you to take a feather from Sakura when she wakes up."
"Alright."
Back in the underworld, Lucifer was sitting on his throne talking to Melissa and Krysta.
"Both of you have done well, especially you my daughter."
"Thank you father."
"But all of them have been saved, they're not dead."
"They fell from such a height, even if they are alive, they are of no threat for now."
"Yes...we still need to carry out our plan."
"What plan is that father?"
"To cover earth and divinia with darkness."
Evil laughter echoed through the pits of hell as he laughed. A dark figure walked in front of him and knelt down. As he lifted his head, It was the vampire that sucked Ayumi's blood.
"My lord, I have done as you have requested."
"Very well, now her blood is tainted and unpure, she'll lose her powers very soon."
"About the promise you gave me..."
"Oh yes your reward..."
Lucifer got up and walked towards the vampire. He lifted him up and stared into his eyes. The vampire shivered in fear as his cold stare sent shivers through his whole body. Lucifer then put his hand on his neck and started choking him. His face grew pale as Lucifer sucked the life out of his body.
"Her blood now runs through you, and i want it."
"How...could...you?"
"Consider this an honour that I used you."
Lucifer drained every single ounce of life from the vampire and threw him on the floor. His lifeless body turned into ash and disappeared into darkness. He turned and sat back on his throne, Krysta sat at his feet while he ruffled her hair.
"Its time to put our plan in action."
"Yes my lord."
"Melissa, i want you to invade Divinia."
"How many demons should i take with me?"
"You shall go alone."
"Alone? But my lord..."
"This is all part of the plan."
"But..."
"Take the book of darkness with you."
"Even with it, its still not enough to take on the whole of Divinia."
"I want you to lose the book of darkness to them on purpose."
"Without the book our powers will be greatly decreased."
"Just do as i say Melissa."
"As you command my lord..."
Lucifer stretched out his hand and a black book with a very evil aura appear in his hand. He gave it to Melissa who took it and walked away calmly.
"Father can i go too?"
"No, you stay here Krysta."
"But i wanna go."
"This job is too dangerous for you, let your mother go."
Krysa pouts at Lucifer but he shakes his head and stares intently at her. Krysta gets up and walks away in a huff as Lucifer smirks to himself. Back at Sakura's house Uriel is still sitting beside her patiently waiting for her to wake up. He gets up and looks out the window, gazing into the sky. However, little does he know Sakura is already beginning to wake up.
