Angel Protector Chapter 6: Ignorance
Christine walked out and saw a guard running towards her. He was panting heavily and while he catching his breath, she stopped him and tried to calm him.
"Why are you in such a hurry? What happened?"
"Miss Christine! We're under attack!"
"Again? Those demons don't give up! What's the status?"
"The cherubim's are holding off the assault for now."
Christine pushed open the door and shouted to Michael.
"Sorry to disturb the moment boys, but it seems we're under attack again."
"What? What's the status report?"
"The cherubim's are already holding them off."
"We need to hurry, Sera you stay here, come Christine let's go."
"I'm already ok! I can fight!"
"This is just a small scale attack; they'll leave once they get tired of hitting the shield.
"But..."
"Yes you're in no condition to fight yet, just stay here for the time being and get some rest. You should listen to me if you don't listen to Michael at least."
Michael and Christine both rushed out and flew to the gates of Divinia. The cherubim's were already there. Cherubim's are angels who specialize in using the harp to defend or support the others. They were all dressed in pure violet long robes except for the chief cherubim who were dressed in white and violet. There were 4 groups of them now at each corner. Each group was concentrating in playing the same tune to keep out the demons. As they were gracefully playing, demon after demon attacked the shield that was formed around the castle.
Michael and Christine soon reached and Michael stopped to talk one of the guards.
"How many are there?"
"About 100 sir."
"What are they thinking? Attacking only with 100, bring my sword; I'll bring all of them down."
"Sir here's your sword."
Michael took his sword and took it out of its scabbard. His sword was made of the finest metal and it gleamed against the light as he pulled it out. He flew outside and came face to face with the 100 demons outside.
"Do you think you can defeat all of us Michael? You're just a pathetic seraphim."
"I'll let my sword answer that."
Michael flew quickly through the mob and slashed a few before flying high again. As more ran towards him he evaded them nicely and delivered more slashes to the mob. Christine was watching from the top and smiled to herself as she saw the mob slowly decreasing in number.
Suddenly a few demons came from behind Michael and attacked him! Christine tried to shout to him but it was too late. Michael was slashed by the claws of the demons as more came to attack him. His right arm was now bleeding heavily and so were his legs. Someone was now flying to help him. Christine watched helplessly as she saw tried to see who the person was. Her eyes widened as she saw the face of the person.
"Christy..."
Christy was the older sister of Christine and she was the chief cherubim. She flew above the mob that was attacking Michael and magically set her harp to float on the sky. She closed her eyes and played a slow melody. The mob turned around and ran towards her. Christy suddenly opened her eyes and changed the melody to a very loud and unmelodious tune that made everyone cover their ears. The mob stopped too but started to attack each other, destroying each other in the process.
Christy stopped playing and there wasn't a single demon left. Everyone cheered as she slowly brought Michael back inside. Christine laid him and took out her staff.
"Thanks for saving him Christy."
"It wasn't much of a problem to save him." *smiles*
"I'll take care of him now."
"Yes please do."
Christine tapped the staff on the body of Michael and an oval blue light covered him. As she flew away Michael was being magically chained to her by the blue light. He was being slowly healed even as he lay down inside the light. He was brought to his room and Christine put him on his bed while using her staff to heal him and put him to a deep slumber.
Back on Earth Ayumi had already finished school and was at home. Still wondering where Sera was, she seemed listless as she sensed something had happened to him. While in her own thoughts, she accidentally tripped and dropped her pen under her bed. She bent down to take it but saw something shining under her bed. Curious, she took it and looked at it in surprise. It was a yellow stone in the shape of a star and white clouds could be seen inside moving around. She stared in amazement as the clouds inside moved. The clouds inside started to form words 1 by 1 as she continued staring at it. She read out the word each time it was formed.
"Call"
"my"
"name"
"it"
"is"
"Scyra"
As she said the last word the crystal opened and filled the room with smoke.
Angel Protector Chapter 5: Gentleness "As you command" said the guard as he bowed down.
As Sera collapsed in front of the door, the door opened slowly and a figure was seen at the other side walking towards Sera. The figure soon reached the door and it bent down to pick up the now lifeless body of Sera into his arms. It was Michael.
"You've done well Sera, rest for now."
Michael carried Sera into one of the rooms in the castle and laid him down to sleep. The room was beautiful and very well furnished. Drapes were hanging from bed and fluttered gently as Michael walked out of the room and found a guard on duty.
"Guard this room while I go fetch a healer."
Michael walked to the healers' quarters and looked around the empty room.
"Why isn't anyone here?"
"My my we have special guest don't we?"
Michael turned around to see Christine, the chief healer walking gracefully into the room with the other healers behind her.
"Why weren't there anyone here on duty?"
"Oh don't make such a big fuss over it Michael; I was just bringing the rest to see me do my rounds."
"Make sure it doesn't happen again alright?"
"You're always so serious, you should relax a little sometimes." Sighs Christine
"..."
"What brings you here today anyway?" Asks Christine as she sits down on her chair.
"Wait; don't tell me, its Sera isn't it?"
"How did you.."
"It's all over your face, has something happened to him?"
"Why don't you come and see for yourself?"
As both of them walked through the halls to the room Sera was in, Michael hastened his pace a little. The guard was still there when they reached. Michael flicked his hand and the guard bowed again and left. Both of them entered the room and as Christine examined Sera her face turned and looked at Michael.
"These are very serious injuries, what happened?"
"He was taking the test to be a guardian."
"The guardian test? It's not a thing someone would usually die doing."
"You know the guardian test is to fight the demons of your past battles right?"
"Yes but what demon could he have faced in the past that could do this?"
"Remember the tree spirit I saved him from?"
"So it was her..I know what to do now,I'll inform you when he's better."
"Take care of him."
Michael walked out of the room with Christine still checking the injuries of Sera. She turned back and saw Michael closing the door. She looked back at Sera and stroked his face.
"He may always be so serious but he actually cares for you. You are his brother after all."
"Sainte de Espirit"
Both of Christine's hands were now glowing with light as she held them over the wounds. The wounds slowly healed as Christine concentrated very hard in healing Sera. She stopped after a while and kissed Sera on his forehead.
"You should be feeling better by tomorrow, till then continue sleeping."
She left the room and saw Michael outside who jumped a little upon seeing her.
"You're done?"
"Yes he should rest for now; I'll continue treating his injuries tomorrow."
"I see...'
"I'll go back to my room first; you should let him rest too."
Christine turned her back and walked down the halls.
"Thank you Christine.."
Even though she was far down the halls she turned around and smiled before walking off again with her hair waving freely.
Michael walked into the room and sat beside Sera. His eyes softened as he gazed upon him.
"I haven't been a good brother to you after I was put in charge of running Divinia, I'm sorry."
Michael continued sitting there for a while and when he decided to leave Sera suddenly grabbed his hand.
"Don't go..brother.."
Michael turned around and saw Sera grabbing his arm. He was actually still asleep. Michael took his arm slowly away and put it back on the bed. He took a step forward but than took a final look at Sera and decided to stay. He sat by the bed and slept.
After quite some time, both of them were sound asleep and Sera was starting to wake up. His eyes slowly opened and he noticed that he in an unfamiliar room. He then saw Michael at his side and his eyes widened in surprise.
"Michael?"
Michael woke up and saw that Sera was sitting up on the bed smiling at him.
"What are you doing here brother?"
"I told you to call me by my name in the castle right?" said Michael as he smiled to Sera.
"Why are you here anyway? Don't you have work to do?"
"You are here because of me, it is my duty to make sure you're ok before I leave."
Christine opens the door at this moment and sees both of them laughing and chatting happily. She grins to herself and closes back the door.
Angel Protector Chapter 4
Sera's eyes widened as the tree spirit walked nearer to him and he saw her face.
"Treas.." (Note: pronounced tray-us)
Treas laughed as a vine now creeped its way unto Sera"s neck. It slowly encircled his neck as Sera still looked on in disgust at the vine but was he was frozen by fear as he continued sitting on the floor and facing her. Treas bent down and came face to face with Sera.
"Surprised Sera? You thought you won't see me again did you?"
Treas now walked slowly around Sera as she used her hand to fondle with his hair. Her hand slowly going for his neck, gently caressing it. Sera shivered as she did this.
"I'm here only for one reason and that's to destroy you."
She whispered that in his ear as she continued fondling with his face. Suddenly she grabbed him by his neck and choked him.
"Michael won't be able to save you this time Sera!! Hahahaha"
Many vines came out from the ground and grabbed Sera. He was being pulled up into the air and thrown around relentlessly by the vines. Treas was still laughing as she controlled the vines from the ground.
"If I don't do something soon I'll be ripped apart by these vines."
Sacre Benedicto!!"
A pillar of light formed around Treas and trapped her inside.
"Do you think your barrier can hold me? The holy light won't affect me even if I stay inside here the whole day!!"
"She's right; the holy light from such a low level barrier won"t affect her. I need to think of something else."
Sera tries to spread his wings to escape from the vines. He succeeded but still was being chased by the vines.
"It's hard to see with so little light, I can't see where the vines are coming from."
Sera suddenly thought of something as he said this.
"Sacre Benedicto!!"
A pillar of light appeared and cut through some of the vines.
"I can use the barrier spell as a light source. I'll need more though."
He continued flying to escape the vines. A vine caught his legs and threw him onto the floor in front of Treas. It held him by his hair and more vines came to beat him as Treas laughed.
Ayumi who was on Earth was now in class. She suddenly felt pain that lasted a while. She cringed as the pain came again. Sakura was noticing this and felt concerned for Ayumi. She leaned towards her and asked,
"Ayumi are you ok?"
"I'm fine, don't worry."
Ayumi was wondering where the pain was coming from and suddenly she thought of Sera as she looked out the window and into the skies.
"He's been gone for quite some time, I wonder if anything has happened to him. Maybe this is the pain he's going through now. But why am I feeling it?"
Sera was still getting blow after blow from the vines.
"I can't lose here..i have someone to protect.."
"What are you mumbling about? Shut up!"
She controlled the vines with a fling of her hand and threw him far into the darkness.
As Sera stood up, he heard the sound of vines coming straight at him.
"Sacre Benedicto!"
He closed his eyes and saw the incoming vines being burned as they collided with the pillar.
"Those vines can't go through the barrier, I might have a chance!"
He flew high up and saw the 3 pillars that were already in place. He smiled as he saw the positions of the pillars.
"The positions of those pillars, I can win if get two more in the correct positions!!"
"Sacre Benedicto!"
As another pillar of light appeared, Treas still inside her barrier controlled more vines to chase after Sera.
"What do you think you're doing Sera? So many barriers won't hurt me at all!"
Sera flies hurriedly flies to the last position and casts the final barrier. Just at this moment he gets caught again and is brought face to face to Treas.
"I have no idea what you're up to but I'll kill you right now to make sure it won't work!"
"You're too late. Activate! Sacre Benedicto Grande!"
The five pillars of light was now shining more brightly than ever and the light joined together to form a cross with Treas in the centre.
"What did you do? I can't be defeated by you!!"
"Even though my barrier is not strong enough if it’s just one, when I place them in certain positions to form a cross, its strong enough to defeat you!!"
The light slowly enveloped the whole place and Treas slowly disappeared into the light. Sera heaved a sigh of relief and tried to get up. He tried to walk a few steps and he saw a small light at the end of the darkness. With every ounce of strength left in him, he pushed himself to walk towards that light.A trail of blood followed on the path he was walking. Soon he came to it and found that it was a door. He smiled as he walked towards it, his hand clutching the area that was bleeding.
"This must be the exit, I've made it."
He smiled as his hand went to the knob, but collapsed in front of the door with his hand still at the door.He fainted after calling out Ayumi's name.
"A..yu..mi"
Angel Protector Chapter 3 :Determination
Sera walked through the door slowly and saw a sight he was shocked at. A maze made of rocks and bushes that was about the size of 3 soccer fields. He turned around and saw the door slowly disappearing.
"Guess there's no turning back now."
He walked straight and soon came to a junction.
"Which way should I go? If only I could just fly and see the route to take this would be so easy."
He decided to take the right path and suddenly from behind came a demon. It was a low level demon that Sera saw before. The most common of all the dark minions.
"This is the demon I have to defeat? This will be easy."
"Sacre Benedicto!!"
As he said the spell, a wall of light surrounded around the demon and it was trapped inside. The demon scratched at the barrier but it was not affecting the barrier at all.
"It'll be trapped there and soon it'll be gone after being exposed to the holy light in the barrier for too long."
Sera walked on and kept taking the right path whenever he came to a junction. He grew tired from walking and decided to take a rest. He leaned against a bush and stretched himself.
"Either I exhaust myself trying to find the way out or die fighting a demon huh? Michael sure is smart for making such a test. I don't even have room to spread my wings."
Many vines appeared from the bush he was leaning on and grabbed Sera! He was being dragged into the bush. Sera struggled to escape but even as he broke a vine more came. Soon he was dragged totally into the bushes.
"Arghh."
Back on earth in Ayumi's room, it was morning and the bright morning light entered into her room and woke her. She opened her eyes slowly and closed it back the moment she saw the bright morning light.
"Was last night really what happened? It felt almost like a dream. But these bruises on my hand..it proves it really did happen."
She rubbed the bruises on her hand as she tried to recall the event that happened in the night. She cried as she remembered the way she saw both her parents die.
"I must save my mother, if what that demon said was true I can't allow my mother to suffer anymore!! I must save her!"
Her eyes filled with determination as she stopped her tears from coming out.
"That reminds me, where is Sera? I guess he went back to angel land, where ever that is."
Little did she know the trouble Sera was facing right now.
Sera was now inside the bush. Strangely there was space in the bushes, it seemed almost hollow now that he was inside. It was pitch dark as the vines that entangled him were now releasing their grip on him. Even though it was pitch dark, Sera could sense a dark aura approaching him.
"I know this aura; I've fought against it before. It's a tree spirit."
True enough it was tree spirit. As it was approaching, some dim lights peeped through the holes in the bushes. The tree spirit was actually a lady dressed in a dirty green outfit. It had black wings that had holes in them and dead leaves were all over her. She smirked and walked towards Sera.
"Hello Sera, we meet again."
