Angel Protector Chapter 11:Fire vs Water
A beautiful seraphim wearing a mask stepped into the light with a pixie floating by her head. She was holding a white staff with a blue gem at the top of it. She walked towards Melissa and Krysta.
"I won't forgive you for hurting them."
"Muahaha, just who do you think you are?"
This unknown Seraphim raised her staff and flew backwards.
"Wy, use water prison on this whole area."
"Yes my mistress."
Her pixie shone a bright blue and suddenly the ground glowed a light blue in color. The whole area was surrounded by a circular blue light and the light shone towards the night sky.
"Mother what's happening? I can't move."
"It's high level binding spell, unbelievable, even I am having trouble."
Melissa gritted her teeth and tried to break the binding spell.
"Krysta are you ok?"
"Leave this to me mum, it's time I had some fun."
"Are you sure?"
"Yup! Byakuya it's time for us to have some fun, come out!"
The red stone hanging from Krysta's neck shone brightly and a white tiger with red stripes appeared.
"Is it finally my turn to fight, mistress?"
"Yes, attack them Byakuya! Fire rage!"
The white tiger opened its mouth and burning flames could be seen gathering inside it. After a while a trail of fire flew straight at the Seraphim.
"Wy, water defense!"
"Yes mistress."
A wall of water appeared in front of the Seraphim and blocked the approaching fire. It broke the binding spell and they were free to move again. Krysta's eyes changed to red and an aura of fire surrounded her.
"How dare you try to trap mother and me? I'll make you pay!"
"Mistress, let's merge and destroy them."
"You're right Byakuya, let's merge."
Byakuya became a solid form of burning fire and entered the body of Krysta. Krysta's hands were now burning with an eerie glow of purple. From her hands appeared a huge scythe. It started to burn and Krysta got ready to strike.
"She can merge with her familiar too?" thought the unknown seraphim.
"Mistress, we don't have a choice, we need to merge too."
"Do I really have no choice? Ok let's merge too Wy."
Wy formed into a blue orb and entered the seraphim's body. Her staff now had a blue aura to it. Krysta uses both her hands to hold her scythe and dashes to the seraphim at great speed. The seraphim uses her staff to block the attack but gets blown away by Krysta's power. She steadies herself and aims her staff at Krysta.
"Water breaker!"
Krysta stops in her tracks and looks on in surprise as a gush of water comes towards her. She could not react to it fast enough and the blast of water went straight at her and smashed her against a wall.
"Argh, damn you, I'll make you pay for that."
"Byakuya, boomerang form."
Krysta's scythe shape changed and was now in a shape of a huge boomerang. A rod in the middle and two huge scythe blades coming out.
"Fire boomerang!"
She threw the metal boomerang as if it was a paper plane and it flew at the seraphim.
"She can change her weapon form? Her level of magic is high."
"Wy, canon form, now."
Her staff detached and from the edge of the blue jewel protruded two fork like objects. It now looked like a pitch fork with a blue jewel in the middle.
"Deluge canon!"
Her weapon shone a bright blue, and blue particles could be seen gathering at the tip of it. It fired soon after and went head to head with the fire boomerang coming straight at her. The clash between these two attacks was so powerful it caused a minor explosion and thick smoke filled the area.
"She's good." Whispered both of them.
As the smoke cleared, Krysta's fire boomerang returned back to her and it returned back to its scythe form. The seraphim's staff also returned back to its normal mode. Both of them got ready to attack again as the smoke totally cleared away.
They charged at each other with their weapons and as battle heats up, the winner of this battle seemed undecided at the moment.
Angel Protector Chapter 10: The second angel protector?
Sera flew towards Ayumi at a fast speed and was about to strike her. Ayumi closed her eyes in fear but Scyra snapped her out of it.
"Ayumi you have to fight him, he's being controlled!!"
"How can I? He's my angel."
"Defend yourself at least or you'll die!!"
"Wind Rejection!!"
Ayumi hastily says the spell as Sera swung his sword down. A blast of wind surrounds Ayumi but it wasn't strong enough to block Sera without the full chant. She gets blown away and lands some meters back. Melissa who was still standing in the shadows started to laugh at this sight.
"Why is it I can't block his attacks now?"
"You only said the spell name, it won't have full effect."
"Sera stop it!! Can't you recognize me?!"
Sera stops in his tracks for a while but Melissa walks up to him and whispers in his ear.
"Kill her...for me."
"Yes...my queen."
Sera once again fly towards Ayumi to slash her but just before he lowered his sword, a bright light comes forth out of Ayumi and she transformed into a Seraphim. She used her bow to block the sword and sparks flew as Sera delivered blow after blow to her. Ayumi flew to the sky and Sera followed. She shot an arrow but Sera used his swords to deflect it away.
"Ayumi be careful!!"
Melissa walks to Scyra and holds him by his neck. Her other hand was going towards his body and she lifted up one finger and the nail slowly became longer and was about to pierce through Scyra.
"Shut up you stupid bird. You should just die with your master."
"Scyra!! Take your hands off him!!"
Ayumi turns and prepares to shoot an arrow at Melissa. But as she was about to let it go, she lifted Scyra in front of her as a shield. Ayumi's eyes widened in anger.
"How dare you!!"
"Muahahaha, aren't you forgetting something?"
Ayumi turns around but it was too late, Sera had already slashed her back.
"Arghh!! Sera..."
Ayumi falls to the ground and Sera was still chasing her. Droplets of tears came out of Ayumi’s eyes as she fell. She took her bow and aimed it at Sera. She pulled the string of the bow and a bright arrow made of sharp piercing winds formed. More tears came out as she let go of the string.
"I'm sorry Sera..."
Sera's face looked on in shock as the arrow flew at him at a great speed. He was too slow to react to it and the arrow pierced through his body. Sera shouted in agony and continued to fall to the ground with Ayumi. His eyes returned to his normal state and he was no longer under the control of Melissa. Ayumi smiled and closed her eyes. As both of them fell from the sky, Melissa laughed eerily and threw Scyra to the floor.
"Both of them will surely die, my Lord will be pleased."
As she watched both of them fall, a young girl suddenly comes from behind and hugs her. Melissa was taken aback and turned around to see who it was. She smiled as she saw that it was her daughter.
"Mummy!!"
"What are you doing here Krysta? You should be at your father's side"
"Father told me you'll be dealing with some pesky insects and I came to see"
"It's already been taken care of" *points to Sera and Ayumi*
"Aww I wanted to see how you did it."
"Next time I'll try not to kill them too fast."
"Hurray!!"
Krysta walks to Scyra and picks it up.
"This bird is so pretty!! I want to keep it!!"
"It's almost dead dear"
"I don't care, I want it!!"
Melissa sighs and takes him from her. She heals the injury she gave Scyra and passes him back to Krysta.
"Your father will destroy him if he doesn't like it you know?"
"If father dares to do that I'll hate him forever."
Sera and Ayumi and land on the ground with a loud explosion and they both lay motionless on the ground.
"Are they really dead?"
"No one can survive that, not even angels."
"This is boring, let's go back to father."
As mother and daughter walked, Krysta kick the lifeless body of Ayumi and walked over it. Suddenly someone comes out of the shadows and stops them. A figure of a seraphim.
"You're not going anywhere."
Angel Protector Chapter 9: Melissa
"Hey Ayumi have you been listening to a word I've been saying?"
"Huh? Oh sorry Sakura what were you saying?"
(Rolls eyes) "I was asking you whether you were free after school today."
"Oh I have something I have to do today, sorry Sakura."
Ayumi smiled sheepishly at Sakura but her mind was thinking of what Sera had told her. She clutched the star shaped stone that Scyra was in. She had made it into a necklace and it hung around her neck. Scyra had returned to the stone for now. She tried to recall Sera's words.
"You need to practice your magic with Scyra. I'll meet you at the hill near your house after school to train you."
As the minutes went by like what seemed like eternity, the bell finally rung for dismissal. Ayumi grabbed her bag and rushed out of the class before Sakura could even say bye to her. Sakura wondered why she was in such a hurry but didn't give much thought to it and went home.
"Sera where are you?"
"You're finally here; try to call out Scyra."
"Come out Scyra."
"Eh he's not coming out?"
After several more attempts, Sera finally said something.
"You can't just say it and expect him to come out. You need to learn how to communicate with him even when he is in the stone."
"Concentrate now, will him to come out."
Ayumi takes a deep breath and tries again.
"Scyra, come out"
The stone glows and Scyra appears flapping his wings in mid air.
"Is it time for your lesson already?"
"Why don't you explain some of your basic powers to her Scyra?"
"Ok my powers are separated into, offensive, defensive and supportive; the stronger the magic the longer the spell and energy needed."
"This is so complicated."(Eyes getting dizzy)
Sera nods his head in agreement and says.
"But if you and your familiar fully bond. You won't have to say the full spell anymore, just the name of the spell, am I right?"
"Yes, that's why we must train hard Ayumi; you won't be the only one going though this. We can each fight individually after we've trained hard enough too.”
"Tell me some other spells besides freezing wind."
"Wind rejection is the most basic defensive spell. It creates a wall of wind around you that will blow away any enemies near you."
"That sounds so cool!! Hurry and teach me!"
"Close your eyes and just put 1 hand forward."
"I'll pretend to attack you to test the spell." Says Sera
Ayumi does as he says and prepares herself to say the spell.
"Power of the wind, become my wall, give me your protection."
As Ayumi says this, she feels herself surrounded by what seemed like a calm wind. Her long hair starts to flutter in the wind. Sera charges at her and prepares to make a false strike.
Ayumi opens her eyes and says, "Wind rejection!"
As the sword of Sera was about to land, something blocked it and overpowered him, blowing him back some distance.
"What amazing power. It"s only a basic spell too." Thought Sera
"Sera are you ok?!"
Ayumi runs to him in a hurry.
"Don’t worry I’m fine. You're a fast learner aren't you? Don't you agree Scyra?"
"Not many people can learn spells in 1 try, some even faint after managing to do it."
"That's because I have good teachers." Smiles Ayumi
They practiced the spell a few more times before deciding to go back. Scyra returns to his stone and Sera walks beside Ayumi. The sky had already turned dark with the night and someone was watching them.
Just when they turned around a corner, Sera was suddenly trapped in a whip. He struggled to break free but the whip restricted his movements too much.
"Sera!!"
"Who’s there?"
A figure of a lady could be seen flying down holding the whip that trapped Sera. As her silhouette lit up against the light of the full moon, Sera stared in shock at who it was. Ayumi saw his face that was in horror. It was a lady with black angel wings and she wore a tight black armour. She had long black hair with a tinge of dark purple and her eyes burned with the color of blood red.
"Who’s that Sera?"
"It's the right hand lady of Lucifer the fallen one, Melissa"
"Ahahaha, that's right Sera, I've come to kill you and the girl."
Sera struggled more to free himself but felt himself grow weaker. Melissa held him in front of him and kissed him. He felt himself losing control over his body and mind.
"This wouldn't be fun if I just killed both of you so soon, so I'm just going to let you both kill each other!"
"Scyra, come out!!"
Melissa started laughing and Sera took out his swords and rushed towards Ayumi.
Angel Protector Chapter 8: The man of darkness
Ayumi looked on in horror as Draken was getting nearer to slashing her. Just as Draken was about to land she closed her eyes and prepared herself for the pain she thought she had to take. But when she realized she had not got hit, she opened her eyes and saw the back of Sera with twin swords blocking the claws of Draken.
"Sera?"
"You're always getting into trouble aren't you?"
Sera used his swords and pushed Draken back. Draken growled at him with his saliva dripping all over the floor.
"So you have become a guardian eh? That won't make a difference!"
"I'll make sure I destroy you this time!”
Both of them charged at each other but just when Sera brought his swords down to hit Draken, he suddenly vanished and appeared behind him.
"He's fast!" thought Sera.
Sera used his swords just in time to block the blow.
"You underestimate me too much Sera!"
As both of them exchanged blow after blow with what seems like a never ending battle, Ayumi was still rooted there looking on in awe at the battle; until Scyra brought her out of her daydream.
"You should be helping him! Don't just stand there!"
"Put both your palms towards them and when you get a clear aim of the werewolf follow after what I say"
"ok..."
Ayumi concentrated on the battle looking for a chance to follow Scyra’s instructions.
"Ayumi, repeat what I'm going to say. Are you ready?"
"Yes I am."
"Power of the freezing snow."
“Listen art thou."
"Go forth and freeze thy enemy."
Ayumi repeated after Scyra while her palms still facing them.
Sera noticed this and quickly moved aside leaving Draken in clear view.
"Ayumi complete the chant by saying Freezing Wind!"
"Freezing Wind!"
Scyra's eyes shown a bright white and as he flapped his wings towards Draken. A cold wind blew through the room towards him, leaving Draken slowly frozen.
Ayumi felt breathless and was panting heavily. After a while she regained her strength and walked towards Draken who was now encased in ice.
Sera also walked towards him and looked in amazement, not at the ice but at Ayumi.
"I see you've got a familiar Ayumi."
"His name is Scyra. You look different too Sera. You have swords now!"
"I just got promoted to being a guardian. Did you just get your familiar?"
Sera walked to Scyra who was perched on the couch and stroked its feathers. Scrya enjoyed it and stretched out his wings happily.
"It's a beautiful familiar. It seems strong too."
"But I"m still unsure of how to control his powers."
"You'll need to go through training with it. I'll help"
"Really? Thanks!"
Scyra who was enjoying the attention suddenly said, "What are you going to do about this werewolf?"
"I think I'll finish it off now."
Sera drew a sword and prepared to pierce through the ice and into the heart of Draken. Ayumi looked away slightly as Sera finally sliced through the ice and into the Draken. Draken slowly faded away into the shadows.
"I'm glad he's finally destroyed." Said Ayumi
"But now stronger ones will come for you."
"By then we'll be prepared right Scyra? And I have you too."
Scyra flapped its wings in agreement and Sera smiled sheepishly at Ayumi.
"What a simple minded girl she really is." Thought Sera.
They continued talking and laughing but somewhere in the pits of hell, someone was watching them. A man with wings like an angel but had turned black with the power of darkness. He sat on a throne which had 2 horns at the top and skulls surrounded it. He was drinking a red liquid from a wine glass and his other hand was used to rest his head.
"So Draken was defeated after all. What a useless being."
A figure of someone came in front of him and knelt down.
"It's your turn to go. Find the other 3 granted with the power and destroy every one of them. Do not fail me."
"Yes my Lord."
"You shall be destroyed Ayumi." As he crushed the wine glass he was holding.
"Wahahahaha...Wahahahaha..."
His evil laughter echoed throughout the whole place.
Angel Protector Chapter 7 : Scyra
The smoke vanished and a beautiful white eagle was flapping its wings in front of Ayumi. Its whole body was white and so were its magnificent wings. Ayumi stared at it for a intently.
"Are you my new master?"
"Eh!!" Ayumi runs behind a couch in a hurry to hide herself.
"You can talk!! You're a talking bird!!"
"I am an eagle who controls wind and snow. I'm not just a bird."
Ayumi still hiding behind the couch slowly walks out.
"So your name is Scyra?"
"Yes I felt a presence of someone with great power and so I called out to her. But now that I look at you, you don't look like much to me."
“How rude, I can become an angel you know!!”
"Show me."
"Er..I have no idea how to."
Scyra flew to the couch and perched there.
"You are my new master and I'm your familiar, when a demon is nearby I can sense it and warn you, I'll also be able to help you in battle."
"You’re pretty useful"
"Enough talk, is there anything to eat here? I've been in that stone for a long time."
Ayumi walked to the fridge and took out some leftover chicken.
"Is chicken ok?"
"Oh I haven't eaten that in a long time!"
Scyra flew to the table and tore the chicken apart.
"You must be really hungry to eat it that quickly."
"og gog"
"What did you say?"
"I said...of course" after swallowing the chicken
"You're a special eagle aren't you? I don't think there're other white eagles out there."
"I can control snow...that explains why I'm white...it's the magic which gives us familiars our color."
Ayumi smiled as she watched it continue eating.
Back on Divinia, Michael had just woke up and Christine was still by his bed side healing him with her staff. Her staff had a red body and a blue stone attached at the tip of it. The stone was shining brightly as Christine was healing him.
"Oh good you're awake, you took some pretty bad damage back there."
"Who saved me?"
"My sister..." Christine looked downcast when she said this.
"It's been a long time since she had to use her harp to do this."
"Yes...but sister is strong when it comes to using the harp"
"Why do you look so sad?"
"I felt so helpless when I saw you in trouble; I couldn't use my magic with you inside there with all those demons."
"Don’t worry about it; your magic is strong too."
"But I couldn't save you!" Christine cried as she said this.
Michael sat up and hugged Christine as she cried. She stopped and opened her eyes in surprise.
"Even though you couldn't save me then, you saved me now didn"t you?"
"So don't cry anymore, you're a wonderful healer."
"Sister was always better than me in everything, in learning magic, in everything."
"But you're both now the top in different areas."
"But she is still better than me even today."
Just at this moment Sera walks in and sees Christine in Michael’s arms. He blushed a little before continuing walking towards the bed. Michael quickly lets go and Christine wipes away her tears.
"I heard you were injured Michael."
"I'm ok now thanks to Christine."
"I have something to ask you."
"What is it?"
"I passed the guardian test didn't I? So when will I get my new rank?"
"Well...I don't remember you walking out of that maze on your own..."
"What!!"
"I'm joking!! Take this letter to the castle, they'll see to it immediately."
"Thank you Michael."
Sera said his goodbye and walked out. He went to the castle in a hurry.
Back in Ayumi’s room Scyra had already finished all the food and Ayumi was panting trying to bring more food for Scyra.
"You're eating everything!!"
"You can't blame me! I haven't eaten in a long time."
Suddenly Scyra's white eyes turned red.
"There's a demon coming! Prepare yourself."
"I don't know how to become an angel again!"
"You'll have to learn how to control me then."
"Can't you fight on your own?"
"I fight according to what you will me to do."
A dark shadow fell upon the room and a mysterious form came from it. It had long teeth and looked like a werewolf. It was...Draken.
"What are you doing here again?"
"I see you've got yourself a nice familiar."
Scyra screeched at Draken as he said this.
"Feisty isn't it? It'll make a good meal for me."
"Stay away from him!"
Draken charges towards Ayumi and makes a big leap raising his fangs preparing to slash her.
"Use me Ayumi!! Hurry!! Will me to protect you!"
"I don't know how!!"
Draken was about to land and slash her.
"Hurry Ayumi!!"
